WHAT IS A TENANCY AGREEMENT?
It is a way of running your own business with the experience and support of a brewery behind you. Our tenants purchase the fixtures and fittings and stock when they take over the tenancy, Licensees sign up for three years, and pay a monthly rent reviewed on a three-yearly basis.

WHAT SUPPORT WILL I RECEIVE FROM ARKELLS?
Whilst as an Arkell’s tenant you will have full responsibility for your business, you have the back-up and experience of a 180-year-old brewery behind you.

SO DO I NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE OF RUNNING A PUB?
No, not always, just take a look at some of our case studies. We are looking for people with the potential to make a success of the pub they run, with drive, ambition and a "can-do" attitude. If you feel that is you, then we want to chat to you about opportunities with Arkell’s – irrespective of your working background and experience.

What Arkell's do give you is practical support that is tailored to your needs and existing level of experience with in the trade.

QUALIFICATIONS? I MUST NEED THOSE?
Yes, you need a National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH), the nationally recognised awarded by the British Institute of Innkeepers (BII). The one-day course is run by Arkell’s four times a year in association with the BII and covers key licensing issues.

DO I BUY ALL MY DRINKS FROM ARKELLS?
Yes, our agreement means that you will be required to purchase all your drink products from Arkell’s, this includes all draughts and packaged beers and lagers Ciders, wines, spirits and mineral

WHAT HAPPENS TO ANY EXSISTING STAFF?
When you take over a tenancy the staff that employed in the business transfer and are entitled to work for you under the same terms and conditions as the previous employer under the Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE). The outgoing tenant should provide you with all details, including rates of pay, hours worked etc.

ARE ALL ARKELLS PUBS THE SAME
We are a family brewer and our pubs are part of that family too, and like all family members they each have their own individual character, with some striving to serve the perfect pint, some specialising in food, rural, town and community pubs.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PUB IS RIGHT FOR ME?
